Iniimbistigahan pa ang pangyayari kamakailan lang tungkol sa pagkamatay ng isang rookie cop habang may police operation. Hindi pa nakikila kung sino ang bumaril.

Senior Superintendent Alberto Supapo, Batangas police director, identified the victim as Police Officer 1 Bren Sumadsad, resident of Silang, Cavite and a member of the Special Weapon and Tactics (SWAT) of the Tanauan police station.
 
He said the Tanauan police station received a text message from a concerned citizen informing them that a group of men were firing their guns indiscriminately in Barangay Boot past 8 p.m.
 
A SWAT team, led by Senior Inspector Alfie Salang, immediately proceeded to the area but were fired upon by unidentified assailants.
 
PO1 Sumadsad was hit in the back and the bullet exited from his left chest. He was rushed to CP Reyes Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Lyceno Faustino.
 
Other members of the Swat team came for reinforcement and were able to hold 5 suspects for questioning.
