National Anti-Poverty Commission lead convenor Secretary Domingo Panganiban announced that 3.6 million Filipinos nationwide have already benefited from the government's micro-financing program.

According to Panganiban, they have also organized a Financial Literacy Program, in partnership with the People's Credit Finance and Finance Corporation (FCPC), for micro-financing, as the government believes that micro-finance would help alleviate hunger and poverty on the poor people in the countryside.

Panganiban stressed the need to accelerate public knowledge on micro-finance, as this will be the conduit for people to pursue a business of their choice. He also stressed their plan to expand in Cordillera, which they have started in the city, especially, in Abra, which is listed as one of the poorest provinces in the country.
